5 Big Reasons to have a Small Wedding

This has been a crazy year and we have seen a new (amazing) shift in typical weddings and want to share with you 5 Big reasons to have a small wedding (covid or not). I REALLY hope this trend continues as the small intimate weddings have been the most amazing weddings I have ever shot in the last 10 years! Small does NOT mean it is lacking anything, I would like to argue that you in fact get MORE!

You are not surrounded by strangers on your big day! NOT that you are with a large guest list, but I have seen so many times couples walk around for hours meeting and greeting at the reception and before they know it, it is time to exit and they did not get to enjoy the reception.
There is less pressure. I don’t know why this is but all these wonderful small intimate weddings the couples have been SO relaxed, SO calm and SO very happy. Once again, I am not saying you can’t be all those things with a large guest list. I am saying that EVERY single small wedding I have been a part of the couples are on a whole new level of calm. It is so refreshing to see them enjoy their big day in such a way.
You can get married ANYWHERE! Yep, you want to get married in your backyard or a restaurant or your patio, your grandmother’s lake house. Your list of possible venues expands greatly when your guest list is small. It also adds to the personal aspect that comes with small weddings. These venues I have been shooting with these small weddings REALLY mean something to these couples. I LOVE that!
BUDGET! You can really have a GRAND wedding on a much smaller budget with a smaller guest list. We are talking a FRACTION of what it could end up costing you. We still think you should invest in making your Dream wedding happen but you can do so within a much smaller budget when you opt for a small, intimate wedding celebration.
You are able to focus more on each other rather than the wedding. Which I will say is the BEST reason of all.
