Film or Digital? | Lifestyle Newborn Session

I thought it would be fun to blog some film scans and digital scans side by side and all mixed together from this lifestyle newborn session to see if you can tell which is which. I got a few wrong myself so don’t beat yourself up, I actually want you to be pretty bad at this game hehe!

What I love is that I edited the digital images before I got the scans back and compared them… I was pretty dang excited. The KNP preset that has been my base preset for the last several years was pretty darn close to what I was getting with film. Since tweaking a few things just a bit we are rocking and rolling with matching our digital to film work.

Minimalistic Baby Announcement

The KNP family is growing! Our wonderful Mary is expecting her first baby and we had the best (hot) time shooting their minimalistic baby announcement. They wanted something that celebrated this special time, that they could share with family and friends and use for timeless images in their home. When I asked Mary if she was thinking #film for this and she said DEFINITELY! So that is what we did and then we waited for the scans and they were more than we could have wished for! I love this medium so much and it just really makes for the most breathtaking images. I am so honored to have been a part of this sweet announcement and we can’t wait to meet baby Gran in 2021! Light and Airy Studio Newborn

This light and airy studio newborn session was absolute perfection. I am so very thankful for the wonderful people I get to work with through this job. Come to find out I knew this daddy from college and its so fun seeing him as a dad and with his beautiful wife who was just the most loving mommy.

I am also so thankful for THE KNP STUDIO. It has been such a blessing to KNP and to families who want a clean, simple space for their portraits. I can not believe it has been a whole year of shooting in this dreamy space. Where in the world has the time gone? This was another session that I shot both digital and film and I say it every time, but there is truly something special about film. It gets me excited every time I shoot and client’s reactions are the best when they see the final product. When you book with KNP you can request a film or digital session or you can HAVE IT ALL! Sweet Motherhood

We love celebrating motherhood here at KNP! So much so that we had a weekend fully dedicated to celebrating mothers with their sweet babies. We teamed up with BettsMade to create a beautiful balloon garland for our background, and boy was it stunning! We had nearly 20 of these sweet motherhood sessions and they were all such a success!

I was lucky enough to document Brooks during his first year of life with a KNP baby bundle and now he is TWO! It really is so crazy seeing these babies grow up in front of my camera. It is an honor I never really get over, and just so very thankful for these wonderful KNP mommas and their babies!
