  • Someone who has a passion for photography, people, and organization.
  • A great work ethic is super important to us, as well as someone who loves to learn, can work and problem solve independently, and is very responsible.
  • Someone who is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and contribute to a team.
  • Someone who is very familiar with Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram.
  • A working knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom and WordPress would be a bonus!

  • Workflow of a photography session… booking to delivery
  • What it takes to make weddings, sessions successful
  • The big and little things required to keep a studio running smoothly

This is an unpaid position, but what you will learn is priceless. We are happy to work with you to get college credit if that’s something your school offers. We are confident the internship we offer are great learning opportunities. If chosen for the internship, we will need you to work in person in the KNP studio/office in Greater Memphis Area.

Does this sound like you? Please fill out THIS FORM no later than August 10th, 2019 at 11:59pm. Please let us know in the comments if you have any questions. Please do not email your application to us or email us to confirm receipt. We will be in touch with applicants who we think might be a good fit!

Here is a little from our AMAZING, HARD WORKING, WONDERFUL, BUBBLY summer intern Brooke. Oh how we are going to miss this girl, we have begged her to stay in Memphis and just keep rocking her gig with us, but she is off to Knoxville, TN for college and we know she is going to do AMAZING things. Brooke thank you for all your hard work, your willingness to do whatever it takes, holding ALL THE BAGS, playing with siblings during newborn sessions, patting little babies to sleep to get the perfect shots and throwing veils. You will be missed and were the BEST way for KNP to start the internship program. Everyone will have BIG shoes to fill once you leave!

” I applied for the KNP Summer Intern because I love to take pictures and I wanted to learn more and how the KNP team makes all the magic happen. The KNP team is more like the KNP FAMILY! You are definitely in a family atmosphere. Not because of how much you work with families but because with each thing the team does, whether at a shoot or in the office, you can see how they love what they are doing and who they are doing it with!

My biggest takeaway from my internship with KNP is that photography is a whole lot more than just clicking a button on your camera! Another takeaway I had was how important it is to love what you do! These girls love their jobs so when you are all working hard, you are still having fun!

The most shocking thing I learned at KNP was that there are several days were photographers don’t touch their camera! There are SO SO many things that go on behind the scenes that I had never realized! I think you should apply to be a KNP intern because you get to learn SO much about photography, business, social media, and you are also surrounded by such awesome ladies!”

-Brooke Foreman, Summer Intern 2019

We can’t wait to hear from y’all!!

The KNP Team

This is the most exciting KNP post I have ever written.

It is time for you to meet the newest members of Katie Norrid Photography. This process started almost a year ago to date. I had a one-on-one mentor session with one of these ladies and right then and there I knew it was time to expand from a one woman show and grow a team. I knew that it was something that was going to take a lot of planning and praying and so I started working on a timeline. My shooting schedule is jam-packed year round but I do have a slower time in January and February and that was my goal… to have a team in place at the beginning of 2019. Well when I say team, I was thinking 1-2 people, but as you can see from the picture above I have grown from one to FIVE!

The interview process was not swift, but I am so thankful for that because God revealed things throughout that time that lead me to these four wonderful women. They are each unique and bring something special to the team but they are all passionate, hard-working and ready to learn and grow. I am so thankful to have them alongside me to grow this brand into more than I ever imagined. This business is such a testament to the LORD working in my life and this work that it just gives me chills sometimes. I am so excited for what is in store with this wonderful group and I’m so excited to see how these lovely people bless our clients with not only amazing work, but their contagious spirits!

So with out anymore delay I would like to introduce each one of them to you! First up is the amazingly talented and kind Anna Fly.

Anna was that one I mentioned earlier… the one that booked a One-On-One Mentor Session with me and sorta got this whole thing started in my head. She went on to shadow me at a few weddings and her work was so great that I hired her as a second photographer for weddings. We hit it off immediately and her talent speaks for itself. Anna will now be the WEDDING ASSOCIATE PHOTOGRAPHER for Katie Norrid Photography and will be available for booking immediately. I am so glad she said YES when I basically begged her to apply for the position!

Anna is a wonderful wife and mother to two adorable little girls. She has a successful photography business of her own and I am just BEYOND thrilled that she will be shooting weddings for KNP. She loves Taco Bell and has the best laugh around. You guys are going to LOVE her!

Next up we have the spunky, adorable Brittany Gamblin.

Brittany is joining us as THE KNP studio assistant, aka she is going to be running the show! She will be in the office with me running the day to day business and assisting me in post processing and client relations. I already feel a huge weight being lifted off my shoulders with just her presence. She is a planner, a doer, a get things done girl and she is going to be my right-hand gal.

Brittany is a momma to two fur-babies and she loves to vacation anywhere warm ( a girl after my own heart)! So you will find Brittany and I running things while alternating between Chick-fil-a and Huey’s runs and dreaming of the beach. Brittany is already working on a whole new system for our clients and I can’t wait to get that up and running for you all!

I would now like to introduce Mary Tisdal… I mean Mary Gran.

Sweet Mary was just wed at the end of December and guess who shot her wedding? Myself and Anna, boy was it dreamy! Mary is joining us as THE KNP Second Photographer for weddings and will also be shooting KNP Keepsake films with our Family Associate Photographer. She is crazy talented and full of amazing ideas. I love how her brain works and how she is always thinking of creative ways of doing things. She is going to keep us young and up to date with all things that are cool and hip too!

She is married to the sweetest guy and has some super cute pups as well (they made it into a few wedding pictures)! So be on the look out for this girl, I can not wait to see what she accomplishes this year and beyond. I am so glad she is a part of this team.

Last but not least we have the lovely Rachel Scoggin.

I am so happy that Rachel will be joining us as a FAMILY ASSOCIATE photographer. This is such great news as we will now be able to serve more clients and that makes me so very happy! It seems like I have known Rachel for years, but it was just a year ago that she took my workshop and then had the cutest baby boy a few weeks later and I have been able to photograph her gorgeous family this past year. Rachel has a successful photography business of her own that features modern black and white children’s portraits. She is absolutely killing it and you should book one of those session now, you will thank me later. Rachel will continue with her portraits but will be booking newborn and family sessions with KNP very soon.

Rachel is a wife and momma and has two beautiful little ladies and one handsome little fella. She is so wonderful with children and she is the perfect addition to our team. You all are in for a treat with her!

We will be updating the website soon with each of these ladies and we are so excited to serve you better in 2019! Now shoot us an email and book your weddings and family sessions NOW!

We’re Hiring!

I’ve been waiting for what seems like months and months to write this post. I have been so close before and always made up some excuse to not do this but as HE usually does, God has shown me that this is the next step for KNP.

When I began doing this full time I would have never imagined that I would be turning away clients on a daily basis due to the fact that I just can’t fit more hours into a day.  I don’t want to turn away ideal clients anymore just because there isn’t enough of me to go around. I have been praying and preparing for this next step in my business and I’m very excited to announce that I am hiring an Associate Photographer that will be trained by me and be an extension of me.

I am looking to grow Katie Norrid Photography to something that is so much more than a one woman show. I absolutely have loved teaching workshops and mentoring others in this craft and I am so pumped to teach, train, and mentor someone to work alongside and grow the KNP brand. I am looking for women who love to serve others, have a strong work ethic and have a desire to learn and grow themselves. I feel 100% that if there is passion and desire I can train you on all the technical aspects. I do not think you can teach character, work ethic and love for others so those things are a MUST for applicants.

I have been in courses and in mentorships with others that have been where I am and have successfully grown a team.  I am by no means an expert on this but want you all to know this has been in the works for quite sometime and this will NOT be a fast hiring process.

I am looking for someone that is HUMBLE, HUNGRY and SMART! I have listed the Job Description + other important information below. I encourage you to please share with friends and family and anyone that you feel would be a good fit for KNP.

Katie Norrid Photography believes that hard work and a servant’s heart can go along way in growing a successful business. This business is what it is today because of lots of hustle, late nights, failures and a whole bunch of prayer. I have been praying for this person and I can’t wait to meet who God sees for this role.

Deadline to apply is November 30th, 2018.

What I am looking for:
– Someone who has a natural eye, gift, and passion for photography
– Someone who is organized
– A great work ethic is super important to me, as well as someone who loves to learn, can work and problem solve independently, and is very responsible
– Someone who is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and contribute to our team
– Someone who is very familiar with Social Media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest
– A working knowledge of a camera & shooting in manual*
– Someone who loves people and especially children
– Being a good writer is a bonus, as you will be responsible for some KNP Blog Posts
– Someone who values communication, feedback, and growth

– It is a bonus if you already have experience shooting families+weddings, but it is not necessary to apply for this position

Things you can expect from me, if you end up joining my (small) team:
– How to become a successful family+wedding photographer
– The basics of using social media to grow an individual platform within a small business
– How to contribute to and interact with a small creative team
– Vendor relationships & networking
– What it takes to make weddings, sessions, and other shoots successful

_ Training on culling+editing images
– Constant feedback and encouragement

Important info:
– This will be a position that is compatible with another part time or full time job.
– This position does include limited in-studio / office work, and it will require that you be available on some Saturdays (for weddings) and in the evenings (for sessions), and team meetings.
– You do not need to own your own photography equipment, but if you already do, that is a big bonus.
– The interview process is not quick, but proven effective by others, so get ready!
– I am not in a rush to hire, and if the right person doesn’t come along I will wait.
– I will be training/mentoring you to have the “KNP look,” as well as bringing out your own style as a photographer.

Compensation:

  • Associate photographer will be paid a flat rate for weddings based on experience and skill
  • Sessions will be a percentage fee
  • In-Studio work will be on an hourly rate of $10-13/ hour based on experience

If you are interested in this position you can apply here ASSOCIATE PHOTOGRAPHER APPLICATION

Chandler+Wilson, A Classic Memphis Wedding

Oh I wish I was more consistent with blogging, but if I am being 100% honest I don’t think I will get better anytime soon.  This is a one woman show and somethings got to give, and it seems like its always blogging. But man do I love getting to share more of my work with you guys rather than just a little square on Instagram.  Even though I have transitioned by business focus from weddings to young families I just have so many wonderful weddings from earlier this year to share.

Let’s start with sweet Chandler and Wilson with their beautiful Pink Palace wedding. It was one of the hottest days of the year so far, but we were prepared with lots of water breaks and fans. These two didn’t complain once, they were TOO HAPPY to care and it was something beautiful to witness. I was lucky to work with a great group of vendors on this one as well, which made the day go off without a hitch!

Sit back friends and enjoy this one!

A Beautifully Simplistic Newborn Session

When my dream of a studio space began it was partially due to the fact that my clients were wanting that “in-home” feel but they didn’t think there house was ideal for an in home session. Not to mention the fact that you are usually 1-2 weeks in with a brand new human, piles of laundry, dishes and boxes of diapers stacked to the ceiling. When the “P” family first booked with me, my studio wasn’t an option but when they heard it was available they jumped at the chance for the studio.

I think we people hear studio they think it might be stuffy or too “posed” but that is not the case with the KNP studio. It is basically set up exactly like an in home session without the pressure of having a picture perfect home while trying to survive those first few weeks with a newborn. My studio sessions are simple and organic, no fuss or frills because you just don’t need anything else when you have God’s most beautiful gift of all!

The space has a bed, a crib, and beautiful chairs for those timeless images you will cherish forever. I have a changing station for the baby and a feeding area for those times when baby needs a snack. Another great thing is that there is a beautiful park across the street that siblings can go play at with grandparents or an aunt once they are done because we know toddlers don’t like sitting still or being cooped up for too long. I also provide swaddles, attire and simple head accessories so you basically just have to show up. Of course you are more than welcome to bring anything from home as well to incorporate into your session.

The “P” family was my first newborn session in the space and I completely fell in love, and I can’t wait for all the babies that will be coming to join me in the studio in the coming months as well!
